Mission of Spiritual Development

Northwestern seeks to create an authentic Christian community by integrating faith and learning. God and His Word are at the center of our mission. Northwestern is committed to your spiritual formation and growth, while encouraging you to take personal responsibility for stewarding your faith.

How does Northwestern nurture faith?

  • Daily chapel, worship, and prayer.
  • Providing spiritual development opportunities in classrooms, residence halls, and all aspects of community life.
  • Connection with local churches, Global & Local Engagement (GLE) opportunities, and encouraging students to be involved in the community.
  • Fostering dialogue, promoting diverse perspectives, and encouraging students to care for each other as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Northwestern reminded me that when we trust in Jesus, we learn to love, and when we learn to love, we learn to serve. Whether opportunities to lead are through Bible study or coordinating events, I know Northwestern’s Christ-centered community is a place where my leadership qualities thrive, not only in serving people, but serving the Lord.
