The Adult Undergraduate psychology program is designed for you to examine the human mind and learn to help improve others’ mental health incorporating a Christian worldview. The psychology program examines theory and application to prepare you for graduate study in psychology, entry-level positions in the helping professions, or careers requiring a psychology background.

Why study psychology at Northwestern?

You will take courses in a blended format, with components on campus and online. It can usually be completed in as few as 18–22 months.

With a concentration in marriage and family, you can explore family communication, problem solving and relationships, as well as counseling and intervention strategies.

Students have the option of taking courses for graduate credit which may be applied toward the Master of Arts in Human Services (MAHS) degree (graduate tuition applies). At Northwestern, we view people and the practice of psychology through a biblical worldview not found in secular psychology programs.

If you care deeply about people and desire to gain an in depth understanding of human behavior, this might be the right degree for you.

What will you learn?

You will learn to analyze, communicate effectively, solve problems, and counsel patients.

Some classes include:

  • Professional Ethics
  • Marriage and Family Dynamics
  • Family Communication and Relationships
  • Child and Adolescent Development
  • Abnormal Psychology
